Description
These crispy and flavorful tofu chicken nuggets are the perfect snack for any occasion. They are made with firm tofu, panko breadcrumbs and cooked by either deep frying or airfrying. Enjoy these with your favorite dipping sauce!

- 1 block firm tofu (frozen and thaw)
- Oil for frying
1st mixing bowl
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp corn starch
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 3/4 cup plant milk
2nd mixing bowl
- 1 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 3 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Freeze and thaw the tofu block. Tear the tofu into chunks.Â
- Add all ingredients to each mixing bowl (mentioned in the previous section).
- Dip each tofu cube in the first mixing bowl and coat evenly. Then transfer to the second mixing bowl and coat evenly, making sure all spots are covered.
Deep frying method:
- Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan or a skillet. When the oil is heated enough (when you put a chopstick in and the oil sizzles), add in the tofu cubes. Make sure that there is space between each tofu cube to avoid sticking together.
- Fry each side for 3-4 minutes, until the tofu turns golden brown and crispy.
Air frying method:
- Add the tofu cubes to the air fryer, coat or spray with oil.
- Air fry for 20 minutes at 180°C (350°F), flipping halfway. Transfer to a plate, salt before serving.
Serve the deep fried or air fried tofu chicken nuggets with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy when still warm.
